Privacy policy
Datum is built to need as little of your data as possible — no accounts, no advertising, no third-party tracking cookies.
What we collect
- Your study data stays on your device. Cards you’ve read, flags, review schedules, referral/invite metadata, and interface preferences are saved in your browser’s local storage. First-touch referral tags are also stored there so attribution persists. Datum does not receive your local study progress or preferences; analytics may receive the referral fields described below. The “Your data” page lets you back up, restore, or delete local data.
- A waitlist email — only if you give it. If you join the waitlist we store the address you submit through our email/form provider so we can share new-division updates and occasional invitations to beta research.
- Feedback you choose to send. A feedback submission includes your message, its category, the relevant card or division and page path, and an email address only when you choose to include one.
- Cookie-free usage analytics. When analytics is enabled, our privacy-focused provider counts page views, feature events, and first-touch referral/channel tags. Datum does not use advertising cookies or use this information to follow you across other sites.
What we don’t do
- We don’t sell or rent your information. We use service providers only to operate forms, email, analytics, and future voluntary support or Pro payments.
- We don’t run ads or third-party advertising/tracking cookies.
- We don’t require an account or ask for your name, payment details, or precise location.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe anytime — use the unsubscribe instructions in our emails or contact us directly.
- Access or delete submitted data — email us to see or remove waitlist or feedback data connected to your email address.
- Your on-device data is yours — export or wipe it anytime from the “Your data” page or by clearing your browser.
Payments
Datum does not currently accept payments. If voluntary support or an optional Pro offer is added, a third-party payment provider will collect and process payment information under its own privacy terms. This policy and any payment terms will be updated before that happens.
Retention & security
We keep waitlist emails while the waitlist is active, and feedback while it remains useful for improving Datum, unless you ask us to delete data connected to your email address. Our service providers process submissions and analytics under their own security and privacy terms. We keep the information we request to a minimum.
